Modern Audis are precision-built but they reward strict adherence to VAG fluid and service specs. Skipping S tronic fluid is the most common Audi maintenance mistake.

Common Audi issues in Singapore

EA888 timing chain stretch · early A4, A5, Q5 (2009-2013)

The early EA888 1.8 and 2.0 TFSI had a known timing chain tensioner issue. Rattles on cold start. Fix is a tensioner and guide replacement before the chain skips.

S tronic DSG shudder

Low-speed shudder from the DQ200 7-speed dry-clutch is the most common Audi complaint we see. Usually fluid degradation. A proper fluid change with VAG G052182 fluid resolves it most of the time.

TFSI carbon deposits on intake valves

Direct injection means no fuel wash. Carbon builds up by 60-80k km on A4, A5, Q5 TFSI engines. Rough idle, hesitation under load. Walnut blasting clears it without pulling the head.

Oil consumption · older EA888

Some earlier EA888 engines consume oil between services. Keep the dipstick checked. We do a consumption test before recommending internal work.

Coolant expansion tank crack

A4/A6 B8 platform coolant tanks develop hairline cracks. Loss of coolant with no visible leak is the symptom. Replacement is a cheap preventive fix.

Audi owner questions, answered

Do you service Audi S and RS models?
Yes. We service all Audi performance variants including S3, S4, S5, RS3, RS4, RS5, and RS6. The S and RS cars have specific oil specs and shorter service intervals in some cases. We follow the correct schedule for your exact model.
What S tronic fluid do you use?
Genuine VAG G052182 for the DQ200 7-speed dry-clutch and G052182A2 for wet-clutch units. We don’t use generic substitutes on VAG DSG units.
Will servicing at The Right Workshop void my Audi warranty?
No. Under Singapore’s Block Exemption Order, an independent workshop using correct fluids and OEM-equivalent parts doesn’t affect your warranty. We document and provide paperwork if needed.
My Audi is a parallel import. Do you service it?
Yes. We cover all Audi variants including parallel imports. We confirm the spec before work starts.
How long does a standard Audi service take?
Standard oil-and-filter service runs 1-1.5 hours. Full service with S tronic fluid and inspection takes 2.5-3 hours.
