Why Your Car Aircon Isn’t Cold in Singapore
Low gas, dying compressor, clogged evaporator or a tired blower? A plain-English guide.

We check the cooling coils, refrigerant pressure and air handling.
You leave with a written report and an honest quote.
Why it matters
A bad cabin climate is not just uncomfortable. It strains the compressor, drains fuel, and quietly gets worse every week. Most weak-aircon symptoms trace back to the cooling coils, the refrigerant pressure or the cabin filter. We check, photograph and report on each one, then quote any work you may want to follow up with.
Aircon used to feel cold and now it barely drops the cabin below outside temperature. Usually a dirty evaporator coil, a blocked condenser or a refrigerant pressure issue.
Sour, damp smell on first start. Almost always bacteria building up on the evaporator coil. We inspect the coil and cabin filter, then quote the right fix if we recommend one.
Vent temperature swings while you drive. Often a tired expansion valve, low refrigerant pressure or a compressor clutch slipping under load. Pressure readings tell us which.
A compressor that never cycles off drags the engine the whole drive. You feel it at the pump. We rebalance the system so cold air does not cost you twice.
What we check
Six areas, every visit. Every aircon check finishes with a written report so you know exactly what is going on with your cooling system, and what (if anything) we recommend doing about it.
How we differ
Both will fix your aircon. The way the visit goes, and what you walk out with, is not the same. Here is how the two compare on the things that matter when you book.
The Block Exemption Order (BEO) protects your right to service at any qualified workshop without voiding your manufacturer warranty. Read more.
Our promise
Every visit starts with a diagnostic check. You see the readings and the photos. Then we talk about what to do next.
If a cabin filter clean fixes it, we say so. The report tells you what is urgent and what can wait, with no pressure to add anything.
Photos of anything we flagged. Useful if you want a second opinion, or if you come back six months later and want the record.
FAQ
Every 18 to 24 months for a full check, or sooner if you notice weak airflow, smell or warm patches. Singapore heat and humidity push the system harder than the manual assumes. The cooling coils and cabin filter collect dust and bacteria far quicker than in cooler climates.
Your aircon has two coils. The evaporator coil sits behind the dashboard and cools the cabin air. The condenser coil sits in front of the radiator and releases the heat outside the car. Both can clog or get damaged over time. A dirty evaporator usually causes weak airflow and a musty smell. A dirty condenser stops the system rejecting heat, so cooling fades especially in slow traffic. We inspect both, photograph them, and write up the condition in your aircon report.
No, and most shops over-prescribe this. Nine times out of ten the cause is something cheaper: a refrigerant pressure issue, a clogged cabin filter, a dirty coil or a tired expansion valve. We show you the pressure readings and photos of the coils so you can see the actual cause before you decide on any compressor work.
Yes. Musty smell is almost always bacteria living on a damp evaporator coil. As part of the check we will inspect the evaporator (where access permits) and the cabin filter, photograph what we find, and walk you through the report. If we recommend a fix, you get a quote with no obligation.
Of course, this happens often. Bring the previous invoice if you have one. We will measure pressures and inspect the cooling coils, then compare to whatever the other workshop did. If something was missed or done wrong, we will say so, and propose what to do next.
Yes. Please let us know at least 2 days in advance so we can schedule a driver. Charges from $35 per trip depending on pickup location and distance.
About 1 to 2 hours for a full diagnostic check. That includes pressure readings, coil inspection and the written report. We WhatsApp you when your car is ready. If repair work is needed, you get a time estimate before we start.
For aircon repair work that takes a full day or more, we can usually arrange a loan car if one is available. Same-day checks usually do not need one. Tell us when you book.
All brands sold in Singapore. Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Subaru, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Volvo, Porsche, Lexus, Hyundai, Kia, MINI and more. Aircon hardware is similar across brands; only the diagnostic access changes between makes, and our scanners cover all of them.
No, not for cars covered under the Singapore Block Exemption Order (BEO). You can service or repair at any qualified workshop without losing the manufacturer warranty, as long as compatible parts are used and manufacturer procedures are followed. We do both.
Yes, for aircon repair. We inspect the part first to make sure it is the right one for your car. Labour is the same charge either way. If your part fails early, the warranty sits with the part supplier, not us. We will say so if we think a different part will work better for you.
The form above is the easiest way. You get a WhatsApp confirmation once we have you in the diary. We take walk-ins when the bay is free, but Saturdays and weekday mornings tend to be busy. Same-week slots are usually available.
