Why it matters

Why accident claims need a workshop on your side

After a road accident, the insurer wants the cheapest fix, the surveyor wants the fastest sign-off, and you want the car back in the same condition it was in before. We sit on your side of the table and make those goals line up.

Insurers pay for as little as they can get away with

Surveyors quote market rate for parts and labour. We push back on under-quotes and supply the photos and explanations they need to approve the proper repair.

Used and recon parts are not always wrong

Sometimes a quality used panel is the right call. Sometimes only a new OEM part will do. We tell you which is which and explain so you can decide.

Diminished value is real

A repaired car is worth less at resale than an unrepaired one, even when the work is perfect. We document the repair, file proper records, and help you make the diminished-value claim if it applies.

Time matters more than people think

Cars left in the workshop accrue rental costs, lose mileage value, and can have follow-on issues from sitting. We schedule the parts, the bodywork and the spray timeline up front so the car moves through the bays without sitting idle.

What we handle

A claim, run end to end, in plain English

Six things we take off your plate when you bring an accident claim to us. Every claim ends with a written record so you have proof of what was repaired, what parts went in, and what the insurer paid for.

Claim filing and surveyor

  • Filing your claim with the insurer if you have not already
  • Coordinating the surveyor visit at the workshop
  • Walking the surveyor through the damage with photos and part numbers
  • Pushing back on under-quotes when the proper repair is more
  • WhatsApp updates after the surveyor signs off

Damage assessment

  • Visual inspection of every panel impacted
  • Hidden damage check: chassis alignment, suspension geometry, fluid leaks
  • Photos of every angle for the claim file and your records
  • Repair vs replace recommendation per panel, with reasons
  • Plain-English summary you can share with your insurer

Parts sourcing

  • OEM, OES, recon and quality used options
  • Recommendation based on car age, value and your preference
  • Lead time confirmed before any part is ordered
  • Insurer approval handled before you commit
  • Part receipts kept on file for your warranty record

Bodywork and spray

  • Panel beating and dent pulling in-house where possible
  • Spray and colour matching with our trusted partner sprayer
  • Six month warranty on bodywork and paint
  • Quality check before the car comes back to our bay
  • Final inspection with you before handover

Tow and rental

  • Tow arranged from the accident scene if the car is undriveable
  • Courtesy car coordination if your policy includes one
  • Discounted rental partners if your policy does not cover one
  • Drop-off and pickup logistics planned with you
  • Storage on site at no extra charge while parts arrive

Diminished value record

  • Pre-repair photos of every damaged panel
  • In-progress photos at every stage of the rebuild
  • Final delivery photos with VIN and odometer
  • Written record you can submit for a diminished-value claim
  • Service log entry tied to the claim number

How we differ

The Right Workshop vs an authorised dealer

Both can fix accident damage. The way the claim runs, what the insurer pays, and how the car comes back are not the same. Here is how the two compare on the things that matter when you have just had an accident.

What you get The Right Workshop Authorised dealer
Insurer relationship We work with all major insurers. We push back on low-ball quotes and supply the photos to back our case. Often locked to one insurer panel. They take whatever the surveyor offers.
Pricing transparency Itemised quote: parts, paint, labour, sub-contracted work. You see every line. Bundled quote. Insurer-paid jobs rarely shown line by line to the customer.
Parts choice OEM, OES, recon, used. We explain the trade-off and let you choose. Insurers usually accept the cheaper sound option. OEM only, full price. Whichever the surveyor signs off.
Repair vs replace decision Plastic bumpers we repair when sensible. Steel panels we straighten before deciding to replace. Saves you the deductible bill. Replaces by default. Bigger insurance bill, sometimes a bigger excess to you.
Diminished value claim help Yes. We document the pre-repair condition, take photos at every stage, write the report. Some insurers settle on this. Not part of the standard process.
Coordination with tow, surveyor and rental One contact: us. We arrange tow if needed, schedule the surveyor, hand the car to spray, return it. Service advisor to bodyshop to spray to back. Customer chases.
Repair quality and warranty Six month warranty on bodywork and paint. We use a partner sprayer we vouch for personally. Standard dealer warranty, often through a panel sub-contractor you don’t pick.
Loaner or rental support If your insurance covers a courtesy car we set it up. If not, we tell you the cheapest option on the day. Their loaner panel only, often weeks of waiting.

The Block Exemption Order (BEO) means accident repair work at an independent workshop does NOT void your manufacturer warranty. As long as we use parts of equivalent quality and document the work, your warranty is intact. Singapore adopted the BEO from EU competition law, and reputable independent workshops have been doing accident work under it for years. Read more.

Our promise

Honest. No upsell.

On your side of the table

When the surveyor pushes back on the quote, we push back too. We supply the photos, the part numbers, and the labour breakdown so the case is solid.

No phantom damage

Some workshops add unrelated damage to a claim to pad the bill. We don’t. The insurer pays for what your accident caused, nothing extra.

Same hands every visit

One contact through the whole process. We brief our partner sprayer and panel beater personally and check the car at every stage before you collect.

FAQ

Accident claims, your questions answered

What do I do right after a car accident in Singapore?

Call your insurer to file a claim within 24 hours. Take photos of all damage, both cars, the road position. If anyone is hurt, call SCDF first. If the car is undriveable, call us, we arrange tow.

Do I claim through my insurer or the other driver's?

Depends on fault and policy. If you have own-damage cover and you were partly or fully at fault, claim through yours. If the other driver was clearly at fault, claim through their insurer (third-party claim) to protect your no-claim discount.

Will my no-claim discount go down if I claim?

Yes if you claim under own-damage cover. Most TPFT-only policies don’t drop your NCD. Third-party claims against the other driver’s insurer don’t affect your NCD at all. We help you decide which route is best.

Can you handle the surveyor visit for me?

Yes. Drop the car off, give us your claim number. We meet the surveyor on site, walk through the damage, supply the quote. You don’t need to be present.

How long does an accident repair take?

Minor scratch and dent: 2 to 4 working days. Bumper or door: 5 to 10 days. Major panel work: 2 to 4 weeks. We quote a timeline upfront and call you if anything changes.

Will the repair affect my car's resale value?

A properly documented repair has minimal effect. A poorly done one shows up at the next inspection or trade-in. We photograph every step so you can prove the repair was done correctly when you sell.

What is diminished value and can I claim it?

Diminished value is the loss in resale value caused by a repaired accident. Some insurers settle on it; many don’t pay unless pushed. We document the repair to support a diminished-value claim if you want to file one.

Do you handle motorbike accident claims?

No. We’re a four-wheel workshop. For bike claims, we recommend a bike-specialist workshop and can refer you.

Can I use my own preferred workshop or am I tied to the insurer's panel?

Most policies let you choose your own workshop. Some panel-restricted policies require a specific list. Check your policy or send it to us, we read it and tell you.

What payment methods do you accept?

Insurance pays direct in most cases. For deductibles or out-of-pocket: PayNow, bank transfer, cash. We don’t take credit card to keep prices clean.

Will the insurer cover OEM parts or only third-party?

Depends on policy and policy age. Newer cars usually get OEM-equivalent. Older cars often get OES or recon. We explain what each policy entitles you to before any work starts.

Can you arrange a loan car while mine is being repaired?

If your policy includes a courtesy car, we set it up. If not, we work with a few rental partners and pass on a discount. Confirm with us at booking.
