What Mazdas typically need in Singapore

Honest guidance, not upsells

Mazda’s SkyActiv engines are high-compression and need clean fuel and correct oil to stay sweet. What a Singapore Mazda typically needs:

Every 10,000 km or 6 to 12 months: engine oil and filter change, fluid top-ups, brake inspection, tyre health check, battery load test, aircon performance check.

Watch for carbon buildup (direct-injection engines): SkyActiv-G engines can develop intake valve carbon around 80,000 to 100,000 km. A carbon clean service restores smoothness and fuel economy.

Every 40,000 to 60,000 km: cabin and engine air filters, spark plugs, brake fluid, differential and transfer case fluids on AWD CX-5/CX-8/CX-9.

Aircon: standard SG aircon wear, expect compressor attention at year 8 to 12. See our aircon guide.

Tyres and battery: Mazdas often come with 18″ or 19″ wheels; tyre life 40,000 to 60,000 km. Battery 3 to 4 years.

Mazda owner questions, answered

Do you service the MX-5 and the old rotary (RX-8)?

Yes to MX-5. For RX-8 and rotary, we service the mechanicals and drivetrain but do not currently offer rotor rebuilds. For serious rotary engine internals, we can refer you to a specialist we trust.

What oil does a Mazda SkyActiv engine need?

Mazda SkyActiv-G petrol engines use 0W-20 full synthetic as the default. SkyActiv-D diesel uses 0W-30. Always the grade in your handbook. We stock both.

Can you do carbon cleaning on a direct-injection Mazda?

Yes. We offer walnut-blast carbon cleaning for SkyActiv-G direct-injection engines. Recommended when you notice rough idle, reduced fuel economy, or after 80,000 km as preventive.

Will servicing here void my Mazda warranty?

No, not under Singapore’s Block Exemption Order. Use the correct oil grade and OEM-equivalent parts, keep records, and your warranty stays intact.

Do you service parallel-import Mazdas?

Yes. PI Mazdas (JDM Axela, Atenza, Premacy) are welcome. We handle them exactly the same way as local-spec Mazdas.
