What Hondas typically need in Singapore
Hondas generally age well if you stay on the basics. The common things a Singapore-driven Honda needs are predictable:
Every 10,000 km or 6 to 12 months: engine oil and filter change, fluid top-ups, brake inspection, tyre health check, battery load test, aircon performance check. See our full servicing guide.
Every 40,000 to 60,000 km: cabin air filter, engine air filter, iridium spark plugs, brake fluid, CVT fluid check (most modern Hondas run CVT).
CVT fluid is the one many owners forget: Honda CVTs like specific Honda-spec CVT fluid, replaced per the maintenance schedule. Generic ATF is a hard no.
Aircon: Hondas in Singapore heat typically see aircon compressor wear around year 8 to 10. Early sign is weak cooling in traffic with the engine hot. See our aircon guide.
Tyres and battery: Hondas are light on tyres – expect 50,000 to 70,000 km per set with rotation. Batteries last 3 to 4 years in SG heat. Read our tyres and battery guide.
Yes. We have hybrid-trained technicians covering the petrol side, the hybrid battery health check, inverter coolant, and high-voltage safety. We follow Honda’s hybrid maintenance intervals.
Honda-specification CVT fluid (HCF-2 for most models 2012 onward, CVT-F for older models). Generic ATF can damage the CVT and is never a substitute. We stock genuine and OEM-equivalent Honda CVT fluid.
No. Under Singapore’s Block Exemption Order and Honda’s own policy, servicing at an independent workshop with the correct oil grade and OEM-equivalent parts does not void warranty. We keep full service records with your book stamped.
Yes. JDM Hondas are welcome. Bring the original Japanese service book if you have it; otherwise we start fresh records. Parts availability is generally good for PI Hondas.
Most modern Hondas run 0W-20 full synthetic. Older Civics and Accords use 5W-30, and the Type R and turbo models use 0W-20 or 5W-30 per spec. We stock every Honda-spec grade.
