Common Jaguar issues in Singapore

AJ200 timing chain · XE, XF, F-Pace (2015-2019)

The 2.0 AJ200 four-cylinder has a timing chain that can rattle and stretch on high-mileage units. Cold-start rattle is the warning. Fix before the chain skips.

Air suspension fault · F-Pace, older XJ

Air strut leaks and compressor wear are the most common Jaguar issues we see. The system runs continuously in Singapore humidity. We pressure-test and source quality replacement struts.

ZF 8AT hesitation

Low-speed hunting between gears when fluid is overdue. A drain-and-fill with correct ZF-approved fluid resolves most cases without a rebuild.

Coolant system leak · AJ-V6, AJ-V8

Older Jaguar V6 and V8 engines develop coolant leaks from plastic coolant pipes and heat exchanger seals. Pressure test traces the source before any disassembly.

Electrical gremlins · X-Type, S-Type

Do you service older Jaguar V6 and V8 models?
Yes. We service older Jaguars including the AJ-V6, AJ-V8, and supercharged AJ-V8 across XJ, XK, S-Type, and F-Type. These engines need specific oil specs and timing belt/chain attention. We confirm the spec before every job.
What oil does the AJ200 engine need?
The AJ200 typically uses 0W-20 fully synthetic. We confirm the spec for your exact build year before every service.
Will servicing at The Right Workshop void my Jaguar warranty?
No. Under Singapore’s Block Exemption Order, independent servicing with correct fluids and OEM-equivalent parts doesn’t affect your warranty. We document everything in writing.
Do you service the I-Pace electric Jaguar?
Yes for maintenance outside the high-voltage battery: 12V systems, brakes, tyres, suspension, and HVAC. For traction battery faults, we diagnose and advise on next steps.
How long does a Jaguar service take?
Standard oil-and-filter service 1-1.5 hours. Full service with ZF fluid and inspection 2.5-3 hours.
